Serena Mivumo River Lodge

Serena Mivumo River Lodge is tucked along the banks of the Rufiji River within Tanzania's Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve) u2014 a World Heritage Site four times the size of the Serengeti and larger than Switzerland, home to one of Africa's densest elephant populations. The lodge boasts glorious views over Stiegler's Gorge from its riverside setting.

Accommodation consists of 12-13 timbered, thatched chalets scattered through the forest for privacy, each with high vaulted ceilings, picture windows, a crystal chandelier and a blend of traditional safari antiques with leather and rattan furniture. Every room includes a private plunge pool, sun deck and an al-fresco outdoor shower with wilderness views. The extravagant three-bedroom Mivumo Villa offers its own private sun deck, plunge pool and rain shower.
